Valencia are holding out for £34m for midfield talent Javi Guerra amid interest from Manchester United and Juventus, it has been claimed.
Guerra came to Los Che in 2022 at the age of 18, but he has a key member of the team this season. The 20-year-old has made 17 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and adding to his past. winner against Sevilla in August.
In September, it emerged that United’s scouts were following each and every Valencia game to keep an eye on the rising star. At the time, there was also talk of Newcastle as a possible suitor, and now it looks like Juventus have entered the race.
According to Estadio Deportivo (via Football España), Juventus are set to offer just over £21m for Guerra, who has six caps for Spain Under-21s to his name. However, this is still well below Valencia’s valuation.
Valencia are reportedly in no hurry to sell the 20-year-old, who has an £86m release clause, and United’s fortunes have changed since they first expressed interest. More importantly, Scott McTominay, a guy who may have left a void in the squad, if he insisted on moving in January, is now an integral part of Erik ten Hag’s plans.
Scotland’s McTominay has just two of United’s first 10 league and Champions League games this season after a summer resolution fell through. Since coming off the bench to motivate a turnover against Brentford, he has missed a minute slightly.

McTominay scored any of United’s goals on Wednesday night as they recovered from a penalty missed by Bruno Fernandes to beat Chelsea. That brace took him to six goals on the season, and he praised Ten Hag for helping after Saturday’s defeat at Newcastle.
“Obviously, the manager, to be fair to you,” he replied when asked about the key to improving United’s mentality. “The way we approach the game, a lot of friendly education sessions to stay in power, keep being new and we’ll keep going for the next game, because obviously they’re coming very quickly and en masse. But for us it’s a night we can be satisfied with and move on.
“We started the game well and, to be honest, the fans are clearly pleased with the way we started and reacted after a pretty terrible performance against Newcastle, to be honest. All the guys were so dissatisfied with the way we treated the game, it wasn’t. Smart enough, and to come here and win tonight was an advantage and that’s something we can build on.
