Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have discovered their Destiny in the Champions League following tonight’s draw in Geneva, Switzerland.
Last year’s winner, Liverpool, alongside Ajax, Atalanta and Midtjylland in Group D.
Manchester United, back in the tournament after finishing third in the Premier League last season, tied heavily as they faced last season’s finalists Paris St Germain, as well as last year’s semi-finalists RB Leipzig and Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir in Group H.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City was tied along with Porto, Olympiakos and Marseille in Group C.
While Chelsea will face Europa League winner Sevilla, Russian Krasnodar and French debutant Rennes in Group E.
Group B will see a war between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when Barcelona face Juventus, as will Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev and Hungarian club Ferencvaros.
Champions League opening matches will be played on October 20 and 21, and the calendar will be shown on Friday night.
The 2021 Champions League final will be held at Istanbul’s Ataturk Stadium on 29 May.
At the ceremony, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was named the men’s midfielder of the season in the Champions League.
“It’s nice. In the Champions League, you play against the most productive players in the world and I need to compete with them,” the Belgian foreigner said in a broadcast on the UEFA website.
