Now, after seeing their recent offer for Jadon Sancho rejected through Borussia Dortmund, they have turned to Dembélé, prone to injury.
The 23-year-old has played 75 matches in all competitions since he arrived from Barcelona for the cool 105 million euros (95. 75 million pounds) in August 2017.
The former Dortmund player would love to move to Old Trafford to restart his wobbly career.
Dembélé, who won the World Cup with France, would be offering Ole Gunnar Solskjor more offensive features and is considered an ideal replacement if the agreement with Sancho is concluded.
However, reports recommend that United will return to Dortmund with a forward offer after the rejection of its most recent proposal yesterday, but if an agreement is reached, United has developed other alternatives.
If neither Sancho first selection nor Dembélé selection at the moment sign, then that’s it; Ismaila Sarr of Watford, Luka Jovic of Real Madrid and loose agent Edinson Cavani are players that the club would like to sign.
It remains to be seen whether or not it is a clever tactic through the Manchester club to bring Dortmund to the negotiating table and talk about an agreement on Sancho.
