Manchester United star Harry Maguire has admitted that players in the locker room would be disappointed after his blank draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. The two Premier League giants have reached a boring deal, with the Red Devils at the helm. The City, if he wins his game in hand, will beat them at the top.
United entered the attack against Liverpool, to open a six-point lead over their fierce rivals in the most sensible on the table.
But that was not the case, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team could not win all three points.
Liverpool were dominant, for the most part, but it was United who had the biggest chances of the afternoon.
Alisson Becker made two sensational stops to deny Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba, making sure the house team came out of the competition unscathed.
For United, with Liverpool without key players such as Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, this was perceived as a missed opportunity.

And Maguire, speaking to the club’s official website, admitted that players in the locker room would be disappointed to settle down for a point.
“Some other people will see it that way, but we’re looking to win,” he said.
“You may see our goal in the middle of the moment, we’re looking to move on and get 3 points.
“I’m sure in the locker room we’re going to be a little disappointed that we didn’t come out with 3 points.
“But, as I say, it’s a difficult time ahead, yet we’re moving towards a result next week.

Maguire’s idea of any of the groups had “crushed him,” adding, “It’s wise, but it’s two smart groups that crushed him. “
“We fought in the first part at a pace of play. They took us high, we knew they were coming very intensely out of the ball.
“We talked about that at halftime, we didn’t take the speed of the ball. It was 0-0 and we thought maybe we did a lot better. “
“The moment is much better, we create openings and, as I say, we have smart opportunities but two saved right ones.
United lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the same attack a year ago, with Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah locating the network.
And Maguire is convinced that the draw indicates progress, saying, “I think you can see in our functionality here compared to how it was last year [which we improved].
“It was a tight and nervous match last year, but we didn’t take the lead.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer felt that a tie was the right result and admitted that he thought United had not done enough to win the match.
