Andreas Pereira of Manchester United is now connected to a move from Old Trafford after the offensive midfielder fought for his position in the squad following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon.
The Red Devils have competed in terms of greater skill for this next movement window. The names that have been related to United so far come with the end of Borussia Dortmund Jadon Sancho and the defense of Napoli Kalidou Koulibaly. However, in addition to signing players, the club will also take credit for some of its outings this summer, according to new reports.
One of The United players connected to an imaginable exit is midfielder Pereira, the U.K. Times reported. Last season, the club was unable to make the most of the 24-year-old Brazilian’s facilities, who suffered from playing.
Pereira has only started two league games since February, after being pushed back into midfield after Fernandes’ arrival in January. The Portuguese player, whose move to Old Trafford amounts to 67.7 million pounds ($88 million), has scored 11 goals and has recorded seven assists since joining United.
Pereira finished the 2019/20 season after scoring one goal and 3 assists.
At this stage, no Premier League club is discussed as a possible contender for Pereira. However, Benfica, the Portuguese card of La Liga, to point it out on loan, said the U.K. Times. Some German and Spanish clubs are also following their stage with United.
The 24-year-old is lately valued at 14.4 million pounds ($18 million) through Transfermarkt and has a contract with United that expires in 2023, with the possibility of extending it for another year.
However, Pereira had in the past expressed his preference to remain at United.
“Even when I arrived at United at such a young age, going to United is of course a huge club, but I know they’re in a position to give other young people a chance,” he said in April via the club’s official website. “That’s what happened to me. Ole knows we’ll be there for him. Young players give our religion and do everything they can to protect it, because he gives us their full confidence.”
“I’m very honored and that’s why I need to stay at United,” he continued. “I need to fight for him, win matches and win trophies.”
Pereira officially joined the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team in July last year. At the time, the Brazilian tested positive for his long career at the club.
“I’ve spent so much time in Manchester that I’m now the city and club my home and I’m incredibly pleased to continue my career here,” he said in a statement. “The coach has shown great confidence in me and I look forward to launching this crusade under his command.”
Meanwhile, United could be close to completing its first primary trade party signing. The club has accepted a payment of 12 million euros ($14.2 million) for Filip Stevanovic, the Partizan competition.
But possibly it would have reached an agreement by Stevanovic, United still hopes to make itself with its most productive hope, Sancho, according to previous reports.
