Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has played more minutes than ANY footballer in the 2019-2020 world season

But the season ended in defeat when Manchester United fell out of the Europa League after a 2–1 semi-final loss to Sevilla.

The 6-foot-4-inch defender arrived at Old Trafford last summer as part of a successful 80 million pound movement.

Although the rates caught the eye, he missed not a single’s single from his team’s 2019-2020 Premier League crusade, the first outfielder to achieve such a feat since Gary Pallister in 1994-95.

And boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has almost leaned on him also in cup competitions.

With the Red Devils reaching the semi-finals of the two national cups, as well as the final stages of the Europa League, the matches took place quickly.

Maguire, who was named captain after Ashley Young’s departure in January, played 55 games for Man Utd last season, as well as six more for England.

He has played a staggering 5,509 minutes since joining United from the Foxes.

The Manchester United official is proud of this fact, noting that Maguire has overtaken him.

Monday’s Europa League quarter-final against FC Copenhagen saw the two most experienced players in the global game, with rival defender Victor Nelsson 5,366 minutes.

Unsurprisingly, given the start of their season in July 2019, Wolves’ pair Rui Patricio and Conor Coady combine at 5310 minutes.

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak completed the five most sensitive with 4,986.

Maguire has missed six games in all competitions with United this season, one of which is the 2–1 loss to Astana in Kazakhstan.

Two others arrived here in the Europa League, the return fit in Astana and the holidays in Alkmaar.

He has been absent from national cup matches with Rochdale, Derby and Manchester City.

But that’s his commitment, which he even participated in the recent Europa League comeback with LASK, when his team was already leading 5-0.

Asked about the sustainability of his captain, Chief Solskjaer said: “First of all, you desperately need to play, it’s the captain.

“There is an explanation for why he is the captain: he needs to play, but he is able to play.

“He missed one game, two games this season due to illness, and I think he gets more and more accurate as he plays.”

The 27-year-old also took a chance after he revealed he had played for two months with a hip injury after being named captain of the club.
