Dani Olmo arrived here through Barcelona’s academy before making a name for himself at Dinamo Zagreb before joining RB Leipzig. The Spaniard is now shaping up to secure a big move this summer, with Manchester United in the race for his signature.
An article in the Daily Mail suggests that Manchester United are at war with Real Madrid over Olmo.
The RB Leipzig star is said to have a £52m release clause, but if United’s interest is genuine as reported, the Reds will want to beat Real Madrid, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea to secure his signature.
Olmo has scored seven goals in 19 games in all competitions this season and played for Spain on Tuesday night when he scored in a 3-3 draw against five-time world champions Brazil.
At the age of 25, United would have a fantastic player with enough of a ceiling to go further. His versatility would be an advantage for any top-flight team, as Olmo can play on the wing or next to the striker.
The former Barcelona player signed a new contract last June that runs until 2027. However, the clause means that several suitors are now assessing whether he could have compatibility in his plans for the summer.
We already know that United are looking for a centre-forward, a centre-back and a left-back this summer. One or two central midfielders are also needed, although there is much uncertainty over who will leave Old Trafford in the coming months.
