Manchester United has joined the race to signal Red Bull Salzburg star Patson Daka, according to reports.

The United has not yet been registered in the motion window and has been connected to a move for a new forward.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made Anthony Martial his first-choice striker with Odion Ighalo extending his loan until January 2021 to provide coverage. Mason Greenwood can also work in the middle despite the maximum of his playing time coming from the wing.

However, The Sun reports that United is interested in signing Daka this summer following his remarkable season in Austria.

The 21-year-old has behaved admirably after Erling Haaland’s departure to Borussia Dortmund, scoring 24 in 31 games in the Austrian Bundesliga and recording 8 assists.

Daka is reportedly sought through United and a host of other major European clubs due to his form, but would charge more than 20 million pounds since he signed a new contract last year that runs until 2024.

MEN Sport understands that Jadon Sancho remains United’s precedent in the merchandise, but has still made great progress in the negotiations.

On the other hand, he reports that United has joined the race to point to Thiago Alcántara of Bayern Munich.

The Asturian is about to leave the German after winning the Champions League in search of a new challenge, with only one year of contract in force.

Thiago has been strongly linked to a move to Liverpool, however reports in England say his interest is as concrete as the German media suggests.

Now United has been connected with the 29-year-old player, and Norwegian journalist Fredrik Diltvedt claims that the Reds are interested in the former Barcelona midfielder as Donny van de Beek.

MEN Sport understands that United is following Van de Beek but does not consider Thiago as a priority objective. It is worth taking the reports of interest to the Bayern star with a hint of salt, since the Bundesliga team would prefer to have several clubs in the run to signal it in order to increase their price. United’s call is related to players to expedite their eventual move elsewhere.
