Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane will be out for several weeks due to muscle and Jonny Evans will miss the weekend’s Premier League match at Bournemouth, the Premier League club announced on Thursday.
Both were injured in United’s 4-3 Premier League defeat to Chelsea last week, joining fellow defenders Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof on the bench.

The 30-year-old Frenchman Varane hopes to return before the end of the season and Evans’ absence through injury is expected to be short-lived, United said.
Erik ten Hag’s side, sixth in the standings, have been devastated by injuries to key defenders this season.
In addition to Martinez and Lindelof, left-back Luke Shaw will be out in the coming weeks, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have missed games and left-back Tyrell Malacia has not played since undergoing knee surgery last year.
Man United have seven games left to play and will have to fight to qualify for Europe, and the club will miss out on a Champions League spot next season.
