Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson said Jurgen Klopp called him at 3am after Liverpool won the Premier League 2019-2020.
Legendary Manchester United coach Ferguson praised Klopp, who recently named the League Administrators Association (LMA) of the year.
Klopp, who won the award for striker Chris Wilder of Sheffield United, winner of second place last year, and Gareth Ainsworth of Wycombe, moved to Ferguson, who had controlled Man Utd for 27 years from 1986 to 2013.
Liverpool, under Klopp, won its first Premier League, which is its first league name in 30 years. After Klopp took the Reds to 99 issues last season, he won the prestigious award.
Ferguson, in a recent interview, praised the German coach by suggesting that “his personality has full access to the club”.
“Jurgen, fantastic. I spoke about Leeds United, 16 years in the league, Liverpool, 30 years after winning this league: amazing. Really well deserved. The point of functionality of the equipment, exceptional. Your personality has gone through the whole. Club. I think it was glorious, glorious functionality. I forgive you for waking me up at 3 and a part of the morning to tell me you’d won the league. Thank you. But anyway, you deserved it to be done right.” Ferguson said.

Klopp, for his part, also admires Ferguson as he mentions the call of Man Utd’s legendary boss after winning the LMA Award. He also revealed that he loved breakfast with Ferguson, which was like “meeting the pope” for Klopp.
“Surely I am very happy to win this title. There are many Liverpool calls for this trophy: Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Kenny seem to be in the entire trophy. Brendan Rodgers too. But the main call is Sir Alex Ferguson. I know he’s not 100 percent suitable as Liverpool manager, but I appreciate it. He was the first British coach I met and we had breakfast together. I don’t know if he still remembers me like I do. I never thought I would have the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy in my hands,” Klopp told Liverpool FC’s official website.
