NEWS. . . BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Manchester United’s move for Manuel Ugarte has stalled as they refuse to meet Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price, according to reports.
United have made signing Uruguay one of their priorities this summer after completing deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
Ugarte is understood to have informed PSG that he only wants to sign for United this summer, while the Premier League has already agreed non-public terms with the 23-year-old.
However, United have yet to reach an agreement on fees with PSG.
According to The Athletic, PSG expect €60m (£51. 4m) for Ugarte and United have made it clear they are willing to match his valuation.
The report states that United and PSG are “quite far apart” when it comes to reaching a deal, and that United are exploring chosen midfield targets lately.
Meanwhile, United are in talks with Bayern Munich over a double deal for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
United’s joint offer of £51m was rejected through Bayern Munich last week, and the German club did not readily accept a £64m payment for either player.
Speaking last week, Erik ten Hag admitted that the Premier League’s sustainability and benefits regulations were impacting United’s move plans.
“Everyone has those limitations,” Ten Hag said.
“The club’s FFP regulations are there. In addition, we have to manage it and respect those rules.
“We have to manage this in the most productive way possible to be the most productive team imaginable. “
