Manchester United to compete with Liverpool FC to sign RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka – Report

The Sun, quoted via the Post, reports that Manchester United was alerted to Daka after the Zambian scored twice in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool FC in a pre-season friendly last week.

The same article states that the Premier League champions are interested in the 21-year-old after witnessing his clinical performance firsthand on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the same story, Manchester United and several major clubs have joined the race to signal RB Salzburg’s CENTRE forward this summer.

The report suggests that Daka can be worth up to 20 million pounds after the Zambian striker scored 24 goals in 31 league games for RB Salzburg to win the Austrian Bundesliga name last year.

The article adds that the existing agreement of the African striker is expected to last until 2024 to leave RB Salzburg in a solid position in negotiations on its sale.

Manchester United missed RB Salzburg this year when Erling Haaland decided to move to Borussia Dortmund rather than Manchester United.

Liverpool FC, on the other hand, established an intelligent relationship with RB Salzburg after the Reds signed Japanese foreigner Takumi Minamino on an 8.75 million pound contract to the January moving window.

The Reds have former RB Salzburg stars Sadio Mane and Naby Keita in their team alongside Minamino.

Daka has scored 34 goals in matches in more than 3 seasons for the Austrian team.
