Manchester United still have a long way to go to triumph at Man City’s recent level, however, a win in the Community Shield (after beating them in the FA Cup) would be a positive start to the season. Find out why our expert loves Red Devils at a huge price.
It is the annual premiere of English with Community Shield. This year we are invited to a Manchester derby between Manchester City and Manchester United.
Last year we saw City retain their Premier League title, while United salvaged a poor season by beating their Saturday rivals in the FA Cup final.

My bet: Manchester United will win (+390 to Betano)
My analysis
The Premier League is still a week away, but the Community Shield opens the English top flight season on Saturday with Man City vs Man Utd. These two fierce rivals produce attractive matches and it will be a massive clash with Pep Guardiola and Erik ten Hag hoping to start the season on the right foot.
City are the favourites for a reason. They won the Premier League last season, completing eight more moves than Man Utd and racking up 50 cents more than their rivals. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why they’re expected to win, but at 390, a Manchester United win is a wonderful value.
The last time those two groups met was in May at Wembley. That day we saw Man Utd shake the odds with a 2-1 victory over City, with goals from Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho. We saw that day that United could fit them in and they put in a good performance to seal the victory.
Then there is the summer that both groups have lived. For Manchester City, they have only signed one player, Savio de Troyes. The young Brazilian is highly valued, but at 20 years old he is a long-term guy and probably won’t possibly be a key member of the team until later in the season, at the earliest. On the other hand, they are promoting Julián Álvarez to Atlético de Madrid and he will not play in this match. They also had problems in the preseason, with Guyy players not being able to participate in their tour of the United States. They have won only one of their 4 pre-season games and many players arrive without having played a minute of pre-season yet and would possibly not be in a position to start.
City, like United, will miss some key players who made it to the Euro 2024 final. For United, this deprives them of two starters, namely Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw, but for City they lose Rodri, Phil Foden, John Stones and Kyle. Marcheur. La loss of Rodri and Foden will cause them serious problems.
United’s injury list is already developing with new signing Leny Yoro joining Rasmus Hojlund on the recovery table, but they are entering this adventure with more key players available. United is worth a lot at 390 and also with the aforementioned disruptions for City. As we saw from them last season in terms of slow starts, we have to take big risks.
In addition to our best bet for the match, we will also make either team score. So far in the pre-season, we have seen a total of 22 goals in four Man City games, with both teams scoring in each and every game. There have also been thirteen goals in four pre-season games for Man Utd. There is also a form for BTTS to land, which seems to be in five of their last six games.
The final level of the Same-Game Parlay consists of Marcus Rashford taking one or more shots. It doesn’t have to be on goal, just watch the 26-year-old shoot. He had a bad season last year and that is decisive. for him this campaign. He will start at wide or potentially with Holjund’s injury in midfield. He averaged 1. 9 shots per game in the Premier League last season and will be expected to reflect that at Wembley.
