Manchester United youngster Maxi Oyedele joined Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday, but the loan began with manager Troy Deeney being sacked by Ligue 2 fighters.
Just one day after his arrival at the club, Ligue 2 sacked Deeney as coach after six games in charge.
Deeney gave his marching order after just 29 days as Forest Green Rovers manager, after accusing his players after Saturday’s home defeat of “hiding” and “being scared”, according to Sky Sports.
The Watford legend also described the players in his squad as “sulking”, so the dressing room will be pleased to see him go. . .
However, Deeney later said he hadn’t been as critical of his players and accepted that he had let the feelings of the front office get the better of him.
My only fear with Oyedele is if the club wanted to sign him or if he was one of Deeney’s targets. It arguably wouldn’t be a challenge if he gets playing time with the next manager, but it’s a scenario United will be paying close attention to. in the coming weeks.
Let’s hope Oyedele can adapt despite all the background noise at Forest Green Rovers. Furthermore, they want to act together if they want to be relegated this season.
Rovers chairman Dale Vince told the club’s official website: “These are decisions nobody likes to make, but we have acted this way to give FGR the best possible chance of improving results and climbing the league table.
