Jadon Sancho has taken to social media to verify his move from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho will return to his former club on loan until the end of the season, having found a way out for Erik ten Hag. The 23-year-old winger has not played since Aug. 26 and trained at United after a fall and then refuses to apologise to Ten Hag.
He waited patiently for the January transfer window, which gave him the chance to return to happier times. Sancho played for Dortmund between 2017 and 2021, scoring 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for the club, and is now ready to leave. Back to Germany.
This resolution has been widely reported for some time, however, the official announcement has been delayed. Sancho has stayed away from Twitter since deleting a post denying Ten Hag’s claims that he was below average in education at United, however, he re-liked a tweet from a journalist. Fabrizio Romano on his decision.
The message reads: “Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund, let’s go! Agreement in force between Manchester United and BVB on loan, WITHOUT purchase option. I understand that Sancho could return later that day for medical reasons. BVB will cover part of the tournament Salary plus loan costs Package of 4 million euros.
Sancho will return to United at the end of the season because Dortmund cannot afford to make the move permanent. The England winger is being paid £250,000 per week by United, who have had to stump up £100,000-a-week for him to play for Dortmund.
It has been an undeniable failure at United, who have recorded just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for the £73m transfer fee they paid to Dortmund in the summer of 2021. For now, they are satisfied with finding a short-term solution. . . The club are hoping that he will find his form again in Germany so that his transfer price increases.
United have now offloaded Sancho and Donny van de Beek and are on loan for Facundo Pellistri and Hannibal Mejbri. “We’re all in,” Ten Hag said when asked about the January window after Monday night’s 2-0 win over Wigan in the FA. “So what is most productive for the players and also for us, the team, Manchester United. So we will see how we progress during this window.
