Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram II injured his ankle in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, preventing him from returning.
Ingram ran for 1,018 yards and 10 touchdowns in the 2019 regular season, helping the Ravens boast of the NFL’s number one offense. The Ravens average 206 yards consistent with the game and their 3,296 yards have been a record in a season without getting married.
In addition to achieving his third Pro Bowl, Ingram finished third in the DYAR (adjusted yards through defense over replacement) between the career halves, through Football Outsiders.
Ingram missed the last game of Baltimore’s regular season because of a calf injury. The team had already won the AFC No. 1 seed and still had a 28-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Unhappy with Ingram and current MVP Lamar Jackson, the Ravens picked Ohio State star JK Dobbins at the time of the 2020 draft. The succession line is clear, with Dobbins tab to upgrade to Ingram, who is a loose agent in 2022.
From now on, Baltimore will consider Dobbins or Gus Edwards as the main carrier of the ball, while Jackson will continue to get many taps on the designed tracks and playback options.
