“I’m so glad Sam had a solid start in the league and I think he wants to keep building on it now,” said Chelsea manager Emma Hayes.
Kerr had been criticized a week earlier for missing Chelsea’s 2-0 win over The Community Shield opposed to Manchester City.
In the past he had told Chelsea’s website: “It’s great to have a full preseason with the team.I feel like I’ve settled in the last five weeks longer than last season with everything that was going on around us.smart to be back with the team.
Meanwhile, Kerr Matildas’ teammate Caitlin Foord replaced Arsenal in his 6–1 defeat at Reading.
Arsenal Australian coach Joe Montemurro said: “We can do even more than that, we have our very high judgment.”
