Irish defender joins Premier League Wolves for 14.7 million pounds
Matt Doherty said the resolution to sign for Tottenham Hotspur was “obvious” after signing Premier League rivals the Wolves for a pay of around 14.7 million pounds (72 million dirhams).
The 28-year-old Defender of the Republic of Ireland signed a four-year contract with the appearance of Jose Mourinho on Sunday for Spurs’ third signing in the primaries after midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and goalkeeper Joe Hart.

“I’m incredibly satisfied with Array… I’m very proud to sign up for such a wonderful club,” Doherty told the Spurs website. “With the duration of the clubArray … and the coach, once I knew there was interest, was a no-brainer for me to move to London.”
Doherty made more than three hundred appearances for the Wolves after joining Bohemians in 2010, who will get 10% of the move-in fee.
“My tenure at the Wolves has been. I have nothing to say about the club in general. I feel like coming here will take my game and my career to the next level,” Doherty added.
Doherty, a declared “big Arsenal fan,” mocked himself on the club’s Twitter page, which posted a visibly awkward defender video while erasing old messages professing his love for north London’s bitter rivals.
The North London club was willing to take up the right-back after ascending academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton and Serge Aurier’s erratic form last season.
Doherty helped the Wolves reach seventh consecutive place and played a key role in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team when they reached the Europa League quarter-finals last season.

The Spurs finished sixth in the most sensible flight last season – ahead of the Wolves by difference in purpose – and reached the eighth round of the Champions League.
On the other hand, Juventus has hired foreign American midfielder Weston McKennie on a one-season loan from German club Schalke with a purchase at the end of the campaign.
The Turin club, which sealed its ninth consecutive name in Serie A last month, will pay 4.5 million euros for the era of the loan and up to 25.5 million euros more if it makes the decision to make the move permanent.
The flexible 22-year-old began his career in fc Dallas youth formula before joining Schalke as a teenager, scoring five goals in 91 Bundesliga games.
“The agreement we have with Juventus is the economically advantageous maxim for Schalke and the maximum sporting movement excites Weston,” Schalke director Jochen Schneider said.
“Obviously, the decision to let one of our top-talented players like Weston through is partly due to the club’s monetary stage.”
