Atalanta are the fifth bidder for Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley, according to Sky Italia.
Sky Sports News revealed on Saturday that the Hoops had rejected a fourth bid of £20m from the Serie A club.
Club Atalanta have signed the foreigner from Denmark for more than a month with previous offers of £14m, £14. 3m and £15m, all rejected by Celtic.
Brighton are also in talks with the Scottish Premiership champions for O’Riley, with Chelsea among a number of clubs interested in him.
O’Riley, who scored 19 goals and 18 assists in 49 appearances for Brendan Rodgers last season, scored the moment of Celtic’s goals in their 4-0 win over Kilmarnock in their Scottish Premiership opener at the weekend past.
The 23-year-old is under contract with Celtic until 2027, with the club rejecting a £20million offer from Atletico Madrid in January.
Rodgers has already warned clubs that O’Riley will leave Celtic profitably this summer:
“Obviously there will be offers for Matt O’Riley but, again, we don’t want to sell and we don’t want to sell,” he told Sky Sports News.
“If there is an offer that corresponds to the player’s valuation, that is a matter.
“Until then, I’m pretty calm because he’s well trained, he rides really hard and until that changes, we’ll focus on performance.
“The challenge for groups that come to a club like Celtic is that they can put their price on the league and not on the player.
“What’s vital to me is that if a player leaves here, he’s going to pay the price of the player and that’s not something that happens.
“No player will leave here unless it is for evaluation and right now no team is approaching him. ”
The summer 2024 move-in window officially closes on August 30 at p. m. UK time in the Premier League and :30 p. m. in Scotland.
The Premier League has brought forward the deadline to register for Europe’s other primary leagues. The final dates were set after talks with the leagues of England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
