Matteo Guendouzi sent Mikel Arteta a strong message to Mesut Ozil after his departure from Arsenal. The French midfielder ended his departure from the Gunners on the deadline, after losing the Emirates’ favor.
The 21-year-old joined Hertha Berlin on a one-season loan on the day of the deadline, his long career with Arteta decidedly bleak.
Guendouzi had not played for Arsenal since he worried in a nasty clash with Neal Maupay in the loss to Brighton in June.
Several clubs were interested in signing the midfielder while Arteta sought to leave the bridges blank for his own movement plans.
Rome, Valencia and Villarreal had been connected to a movement, and Arsenal also provided it to Lyon as part of an agreement by Houssem Aouar.

Arteta has no plans to use the German international, however, her maximum salary means she will most likely see the last 12 months of her contract.
