Mauricio Pochettino “in surprise talks with the new head of Zenit St. Petersburg with negotiations on an ongoing agreement”

Former Tottenham’s former chief has been out of paint since being fired in north London in November 2019.

He has been with high-level signings to Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona.

But no agreement has yet been reached and St. Petersburg is in a position to take full advantage of it.

According to Championat, the Russian has contacted the 48-year-old man and negotiations are ongoing.

His current coach, Sergei Semak, is in the final year of his club contract.

Zenit has a history of nominating high-level names, Roberto Mancini and Andre Villas Boas in recent years.

But Pochettino will most likely wait his moment with reports that Real Madrid could make his move with Zinedine Zidane’s position under serious threat.

The whites are suffering to get out of their Champions League organization after winning a point in their first two games.

They lost 3-2 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk before snating one last point at Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday night.

Pochettino has not concealed his management at the Bernabéu.

He said last year how he sought to live up to Los Blancos at some point in his career.

And Pochettino said last month that his “dream” was to lead the Royal.
