Memphis football comes out of the 25 most sensible, gets votes from coaches, AP poll

Memphis’ 30-27 loss to SMU on Saturday ended his three-week streak as a qualifying team.

The Tigers (1-2, 0-1 AAC) won 35 votes on the Amway coaching ballot on Sunday when SMU (4-0) climbed to the Top 25 at No. 21. On the Associated Press Top 25 ballot, Array Tigers won 12 votes as SMU climbed to 18th place

Memphis tied for Arkansas 37th on the training ballot and 42nd out of the AP’s 25 most sensitive. The Tigers were No. 24 on last week’s coaching ticket and No. 25 on the AP ballot.

The Pac-12 returned to the training ticket this week when the convention announced its schedule on Saturday before returning to the game on November 7. Oregon is the only team ranked, while USC and Utah won votes before Memphis.

Cincinnati is the high-ranked AAFC team at No. 11 in any of the votes. UCF fell to No. 25 on the coaching ballot and is ranked in the AP Top 25 after losing 34-26 to Tulsa at home.

Memphis and UCF (2-1, 1-1) are absent this week before the October 17 assembly at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium
