Memphis season opens September 5 to welcome enthusiasts 12 feet away at the Liberty Bowl

Memphis will host enthusiasts 12 feet away for their first season game in opposition to the state of Arkansas on September 5 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, the sports branch announced Thursday.

The branch added that only enthusiasts who have selected to price their subscriptions will be eligible to get tickets to a singles game, from a social distance. Tickets will be awarded from the Tiger Scholarship Fund which awards points and precedence points.

The start time and television news have not yet been announced.

Twelve feet is the existing social estrangement requirement established through the Shelthrough County Health Department. This is the distance allowed in AutoZone Park for 901 FC home games this season.

The university has announced that there will be no tailgating before the game, as the parking gates will open two hours before the start. Only subscription holders who have purchased tickets in advance will be able to participate in this season’s games.

Memphis has announced that it will go on the sale of virtual price tickets for all house games this season to restrict contact between enthusiasts and price ticket holders.

Fans at the start of the season will get parking and seat details next week. The university will also publish more information on stadium regulations, concessions and parking on Monday.

Memphis athletic director Laird Veatch said earlier this month that he expected about 4,000 gaming enthusiasts this season with social estrangement in place.
