Memphis remained out of the 25 most sensible on the Amway coaching ballot on Sunday, but won more votes after his historic 50-49 victory over central Florida.
Memphis (2-1, 1-1 in the AAC game) won 50 votes, up from 17 votes last week, and now ranks 32nd overall. UCF (2-2, 1-2) won one vote after being 26 in last week’s poll.
Tigers will most likely get more votes outdoors on the Associated Press’s Top 25 ballot when it leaves at 1 p. m.
Around the AAC, Cincinnati (3-0) remained solid at number 10 after his game with Tulsa was postponed due to COVID-19 considerations within the Bearcats program. SMU (5-0) climbed two spots to 16th.
Clemson, Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia and Ohio remained the top five teams, while Georgia made up for Notre Dame after the Bulldogs’ loss to Alabama.
The Tigers welcome Temple on Saturday (11 a. m. , ESPN) in a rematch of last year’s debatable 30-28 victory through Temple.
A fourth trapped through Joey Magnifico canceled the expiration in the last quarter and Memphis lost a weight in Philadelphia. Of course, it was the last game Memphis lost before the Cotton Bowl opposite Penn State.
Temple (1-1, 1-1) had its own rally this weekend when the Owls beat South Florida 39-37 after leading 11 in the third quarter.
