The deal would make the Argentine the highest paid user in the history of the sport.

This equates to 14,200 euros ($25,800) according to the time, 341,000 euros ($620,000) according to the day, 2.4 million euros ($4.37 million) per week and the cooler of 10.4 million euros ($18.9 million) according to the month.

Messi is expected to spend three seasons at Etihad before joining New York City FC’s Major League Soccer FC of The City Football Group for two years.

It is also reported that Messi may submit a stake in CFG as a component of its offer.

The six-time Golden Ball winner has been at odds with Barcelona since he submitted his free pass application.

The new Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, says that if Messi doesn’t need to stay with the Spanish giants, it would be more productive to get him out as soon as possible.

And Barca’s presidential candidate, Victor Font, insists that current President Josep Maria Bartomeu will have to fulfill his promise to allow the Argentine superstar to “leave whenever he wants”.

Messi’s father and representative, Jorge Messi, flew a personal jet from his home in the Argentine town of Rosario in Spain to talk today with the leaders of Barcelona.

And Font said, “A few months ago, the president said the players had earned the right to go out and retire that they wanted.

“Now, because of those exceptional circumstances, you will have to fulfill this commitment.”

When asked if Messi had been betrayed through the club, Font added: “There is an inconsistency, probably due to the mismanagement of the existing board, seeking to hide those misdeeds.

“That’s why it’s incredibly vital to the club’s history to do the right thing.”

Barcelona says Messi, 33, is in BIG after failing to show up in a pre-season training and Covid.

But the superstar no longer considers himself part of Koeman’s team after a bitter dispute over his contract.

His legal team says he is now a flexible agent after faxing his move-in request and can let his 700 million euro termination clause ($1.13 billion) be paid, while Barca and La Liga insist that the terms of the contract are still in force.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Font added: “I’m sure what Messi has was not a last-minute decision, it’s a good idea.

I hope that the resolution can be changed, but that does not seem very likely and if that is the case, the focus deserves to be on getting the transition Messi deserves.

“We have to make sure that the legal war between the club and Messi is over.We go down, we talk. Let’s make sure we don’t end up in an even worse situation.”
