Leo Messi continues to break record after record. On Sunday, he won an incredible 70th Pichichi trophy for leading the La Liga purpose ranking, breaking Telmo Zarra’s legendary record set seven decades ago that no one thought he could beat.
In addition, it is his fourth in a row, equaling the record set by The Mexican Hugo Sánchez.
The Argentine also faced two of the most sensitive European scorers of all time, Gerd Muller and Eusebio.
The German was the most sensible scorer in the Bundesliga seven times, all as Bayern Munich’s player between 1966 and 1978. Eusebio was also the most sensible goalscorer seven times, this time with Benfica de Portugal, from 1963 to 1973.
From 2009 to 2020, Leo Messi has amassed the same amount of prizes in the Spanish league, while accumulating a record six European gold shoes.
And yet there’s still a lot of where it comes from. Next season, Messi will point to Pichichi’s number 8!
