Messi will leave Barcelona: Pelé, Maradona, Ronaldo and other legends who risked their inheritance

Lionel Messi may be on the verge of a seismic movement away from Barcelona.

The 33-year-old has informed the club that he will leave on a play that has stunned the world of football.

Surprisingly, you may simply leave for nothing and obviously have a loose selection for your next destination.

In his long war with Cristiano Ronaldo for GOAT status, Messi is criticized for not having practiced his outdoor career in his area of convenience at camp Nou.

But can simply let the Catalan giants tarnish Messi’s legacy? We watched as other legends behaved that were delayed in their careers.

Fight

Having scored goals at a scarcely believable rate in his home country for Santos, the Brazilian legend moved to the North American Soccer League at the age of 34.

While his spell with New York Cosmos was not quite as prolific, the switch enhanced his status as a global superstar and earned Pele stacks of cash.

We will have to conclude that this move at the end of his career was a sensible resolution for the three-time World Cup winner.

DIEGO MARADONA

Okay, Maradona’s legacy was already corroded by his off-field antics and a long ban after testing positive for cocaine.

But returning to Boca Juniors thirteen years after his departure to Barcelona poses a threat to his legendary prestige at this club. However, he took that threat at the age of 35 and added some other bankruptcy to his remarkable story.

Maradona’s last game turned out to be a Superclassic victory over River Plate, a proper definitive.

JOHAN CRUYFF

Irritated by Ajax’s resolve to offer him a contract extension at the end of the 1982–83 season, Cruyff, 36, temporarily signed for rival Feyenoord.

Possibly it would have provoked the wrath of his former employers, but Cruyff’s resolution was wise when he played with a young Ruud Gullit to help Feyenoord win the Eredivisie.

For a boy who liked to do things his way, it was a gesture from the twilight years that paid off.

CRISTIANO RONALDO

Taking on new demanding situations has never been a source of fear for Ronaldo, but it is clear that he did not sign up for Juventus just to lead his continued Serie A dominance.

He has obtained honours in Portugal, England, Spain, Italy and internationally, is the name of the Champions League to which he aspires in Turin, that would be the sixth.

No one, perhaps Messi’s biggest fan, would say that Ronaldo’s career would have stopped if he did not achieve that goal, yet at 35, he runs out of time for his last primary mission.

ALFREDO DI STEFANO

An Argentine striker leaves the club where he is the greatest player of all time after a humiliating defeat in Europe, does it sound familiar?

Di Stefano presented a position in real Madrid’s coaching staff through President Santiago Bernabéu after the final defeat of the European Cup 3–1 to Inter in 1964, who was already in a tense relationship with head coach Miguel Muñoz, and decided to make his career as a player in Espanyol bigger.

Two disappointing seasons followed fighting the relegation, marking the disappointing end to a surprising career.
