The 20-year-old joins Riverside Stadium for an undisclosed fee and has signed a four-year contract. The deal reportedly includes the purchase of City.
“Micah is an exciting young player who we look forward to competing with,” Boro boss Michael Carrick told the club’s official website.
“He already played in the senior team of Man City and its surroundings; he reveled in the game in the Champions League, and he’s a perfect addition to the team. “
Hamilton scored on his senior debut for City in a Champions League fixture against Red Star Belgrade in the season and made three first-team appearances in the overall season.
At international level, he has been capped twice by the England under-20 team.
