The 29-year-old played for Roma between 2014 and 2017.
PARIS: Leandro Paredes has joined Roma from Paris St Germain, Serie A announced today.
In a statement, Roma said midfielder Paredes had signed “a contract until June 30, 2025” for 4 million euros per season.
Paredes, who triumphed with Argentina at last year’s World Cup, played for Roma between 2014 and 2017 before being sold to Zenit St. Petersburg.
The 29-year-old will wear the number 16 shirt made iconic by hero and fellow World Cup winner Daniele De Rossi.
“I would never have chosen this number with his permission,” Paredes said on Roma’s social media.
“He sent me a message that he would be very happy if I chose this number. It will be an honor.
Paredes joins Roma after Juventus failed to buy him at the end of his loan at PSG at the end of last season.
Paredes won 3 league titles and two French Cups with Qatar-backed PSG, and was a Champions League finalist 3 years ago.
Roma are expected to sign Renato Sanches from PSG following the departure of Nemanja Matic to Rennes.
