Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta thanked Pep Guardiola after winning the FA Cup at Wembley.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice as Arsenal beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup for the 14th time, a record, on Saturday.

Christian Pulisic had captured Chelsea. Aubameyang tied in the act after César Azpilicueta shot down the striker.

Gabonese striker Aubameyang scored the winning goal at the time before Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic was sent off for two yellow card fouls.

Arteta left his role as Guardiola’s assistant in December to take over an Arsenal he suffered from in the past with Unai Emery.

And speaking after the attack in Wembley, Arteta was quick to pay tribute to her former boss.

He told BT Sport: “I also have to thank Pep, to a large extent, because now I’m a coach largely because of him, so I also have to.”
