Milan are still chasing Union Berlin defender Diogo Leite, but now they face the festival of Bayer Leverkusen and Bologna.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri have decidedly opted for the Portuguese foreigner in their central defensive elements after the end of Simon Kjaer’s contract.

The 25-year-old bought FC Porto for a total of €8 million in 2023 after a first season-long loan.

If Milan remain favorites, they will be forced to face other clubs who seem interested in Diogo Leite this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen had already made a first approach, but now the suitor is Bologna, who see in the left-footer an ideal replacement for Riccardo Calafiori.

They hoped to remain an Italian international, but with Arsenal capable of reaching the asking price of €50m at any time, that seems unlikely.

Bologna could also use some of the money from the sale of Calafiori to move to Diopass Leite, although he owes 40% to his former club, FC Basel.
