STARKVILLE, Mississippi (AP) – DJ Stewart Jr. scored 14 of his problems after half-time, Iverson Molinar added 15 on his season debut and Mississippi State beat North Texas 69-63 on Friday night.
The Bulldogs (2-2) hit the ball inside, beating North Texas (1-2) 44-22 in the painting. Tolú Smith added 12 numbers and eight rebounds for Mississippi State, and Jalen Johnson scored 10.
Molinar, a sophomore, had missed the first three games, quarantined after a positive COVID-19 test. On Friday, he scored five problems in the first 3 minutes, pronouncing his return with the three Mississippi State problems.
He fired five out of nine with five rebounds, two assists and one borrowed shot in two nine minutes.
