The Mountain West, the latest FBS convention to counter the course and announce a truncated football season. The league formalized the resolution in a tweet Thursday night:

They will face off on an eight-game calendar and the game will begin on October 24, pending approval from state, local and county officials.
The Mountain West Championship is now scheduled for December 19.
Early Thursday, Pac-12 announced that it would resume fall sports with school football starting a seven-game schedule on November 6.
