Liverpool has been connected with an interest in the Defender of the Nottingham Murillo forest.
The Reds were named last year through the Daily Mail as one of 4 clubs tracking the centre-back’s progress at the City Ground, having inspired in his first season with Forest.
Murillo, who will earn £11m in August 2023, had a standout performance on Tuesday night as Forest earned a point at home to Liverpool to move into second position in the league.
The Brazilian is reportedly in talks about a five-year extension to the contract he signed 18 months ago, which would give him a pay raise, but the Reds are said to be back online.
As for Murillo’s future ambitions, he has made no secret of his admiration for Liverpool.
He told Tribuna last year: “I had the dream of playing in the Premier League and I thought: ‘I’ll go to Nottingham Forest, have a good year and then I’ll go to a big club.’ I had that in my head.
“I would be Manchester City, however, it would be harder for me to be a normal starter given the players they have in their team, D.
“There’s City, Arsenal as well, who are fighting for the Premier League title. I wouldn’t discard Liverpool either, it would be a good opportunity for me to show my football in a big club.”
