NAMM 2024: Roland obviously thinks it’s hit the nail on the head with its Bridge Cast mixer concept, as it has just unveiled a new style in the shape of the Bridge Cast X.
Released just over a year ago, the original Bridge Cast is a dual-bus USB-C audio streaming mixer and streaming interface suitable for online gamers. It allows you to create two mixes, one for yourself and one for your online audience, and vocal mixes. transformation effects derived from the Roland VT series. There’s also an auxiliary input for music playback, sound effects, and an XLR input for high-quality microphones.
Bridge Cast X offers all of this and also adds video to the set. There are two HDMI inputs, plus an HDMI Thru connector for forcing an external gaming monitor. So, you can adapt computers, consoles, and cameras to suit your workflow.
This new model also sports six assignable control pads that can be used to trigger sound effects, background music, OBS commands and more.
Speaking of which, you can find a plethora of music and sound effects on Roland’s BGM Cast platform. Anyone with a Roland account can get 36 background music tracks and 16 sound effects, and sign up for at least one Roland Cloud Core subscription ($3 consistent). with month) unlocks an ever-growing library of content.
There’s also the Bridge Cast app, where you can replace audio processing and voice transformer settings, game equalizer presets, remap hardware controls, and save/recall other settings for games and express audiences.
