MILAN (AP) – Napoli won Parma 2-0 in a match that marked the return of Fans to Serie A stadiums on Sunday.
Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne scored in the moment side for Napoli, which hopes to be a risk to Juventus’ bet for a 10th consecutive Serie A title.
Juventus will later take action at Sampdoria’s home in what will be the first match of new coach Andrea Pirlo.
At Anotherma, enthusiasts received for the first time since the reboot of Serie A the coronavirus pandemic after the government agreed Saturday to allow up to 1,000 stadium enthusiasts.
Fans had to wear masks and adhere to social distance rules, while controlling their temperature upon entering the stadium.
They didn’t have much to cheer on in the first part with a maiden-door shot.
The intensity was higher after half-time and Naples was extra remodeled when new signing Victor Osimhen signed in the 61st minute.
The striker worried in the first match two minutes later when he stressed Simone Iacoponi del Parma in the penalty area, leading the defender to run a Hirving Lozano centre directly to Mertens who handed him over in the right back corner.
Osimhen helped Napoli double his lead moments later when his film discovered Insigne, who hit the post.
Insigne scored in the 77th minute and Osimhen back intervened. Parma goalkeeper Luigi Sepe received his hands in central Lozano behind the Nigerian striker, but can only give it directly to Insigne, who fired at close range.
