Napoli’s appeal confirmed, will be played opposite to Juventus

MILAN (AP) – Napoli won an appeal against their 3-0 default loss to Juventus and the Serie A adjustment will be postponed and the penalty point voided.

Napoli had ignored the previous appeals and took the matter to the Italian Olympic Committee, which in favor of the club on Tuesday.

The Napoli resolution has gone from fifth to fourth place, on Rome for different purposes.

Juventus lost all three problems and came third, tied in trouble with Napoli and Rome.

In addition, Juventus and Napoli played one less than the rest of Serie A.

Napoli received a 3-0 defeat and a one-point penalty for arriving at Juventus on 4 October due to coronavirus cases.

Last month, the FIGC Court of Appeals upheld the league’s ruling that Napoli had no valid explanation why the game was lost and had followed the existing COVID-19 protocol, which was accepted at all clubs prior to the season.

The Italian league protocol for coronavirus cases is the same as UEFA rules: if a team has thirteen players available, adding at least one goalkeeper, the adjustment can continue.

Napoli at the time had only two COVID-19 positive players, but argued that it had been ordered not to do so through the local fitness authority.
