Nathalie Bjorn has spoken of her excitement at completing a move to join Chelsea from Everton.
The 26-year-old signed a contract until 2027 with the Blues, after Chelsea reached a six-figure deal for the defender.
Bjorn has been impressive for Everton in the Women’s Super League this season and will provide a much-needed option in Chelsea’s backline, with Jess Carter having to replace at times as a centre-back due to Millie Bright’s injury problems.
With 57 caps for Sweden under his belt, Bjorn will bring great joy and versatility to Emma Hayes’ side, having also played in defence and midfield.
“You will see that I will fight 100%, I want to win each and every match and each and every match,” Bjorn told Chelsea’s official website when his decision was made official.
“You’ll see some of my qualities with my passing and getting through the lines is my biggest quality,” he said. I hope to be part of the team with my taste of the game. “
Chelsea’s first game after the winter break will be at home to West Ham in the FA Cup this weekend, ahead of changes to fixtures against Manchester United and Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge.
Bjorn added: “It’s an amazing stadium, it’s a really nice stadium. It’s an amazing pitch and I cannot wait to get started and play in these big games.
“I need to help the team as much as I can and I need to win as much as I can. I’m in a position to start this journey. “
