As the NBA reset bubble nears the end of the qualifying game, we’ll soon know which 16 groups will hit the playoffs: the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers will begin their play-in series on Saturday.
That means we’ll also know which groups in the playoffs and officially we can start focusing on the 2020 draft. Of course, the 8 groups that did not qualify for the reget start have focused on the October draft for some time. However, there is no transparent picture of how the first possible options might be developed.
There is no Zion Williamson in this kind of draft, which looms over it as the most productive prospect of consensus. Instead, the prepaid order would possibly have this month’s draw and the team’s express wishes.
However, that doesn’t mean we make an informed estimate of how things will unfold, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do here. We’ll also delve into Colin Ward-Henninger’s recent simulation projects from CBS Sports, NBC Sports’ James Ham and a collection of beatwriters from The Athletic.

Edwards Trending as First Choice
In this mockup, we have Anthony Edwards of Georgia, who goes to the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 1 overall. A lot of this is on its positive side and scoring potential, and experts seem to feel the same way.
The 3 models we test have the 19-year-old as his first choice, regardless of the proposed order. Ward-Henninger took him to the Golden State Warriors, while Athletic Ham and Mike Vorkunov got it with the New York Knicks.
“Edwards is a wonderful athlete with great potential, but he’s obviously not the number one overall in a general year, he just has the most productive potential among a lot of players,” Ham wrote. “New York wants a land general, but he doesn’t want a star anymore.”
While Edwards isn’t what a “safe” draft prospect might be, he has the potential to be a star on the next level.
Ball is probably a lottery choice
Like Edwards, the hope of leading LaMelo Ball is not certain. It has superior merit and turns out to have intangible assets to be a quality NBA player. However, it carries valid query marks.
“One source described his shot as “broken” and questioned his point of attention in defense,” wrote Chris Fedor of Cpointand.com.
However, chances are to win with Ball, and the 3 models we test make him participate in the first 4 selections.
As in the previous simulation, Ward-Henninger holds Ball in the overall moment position, Ham’s James L.Edwards III and The Athletic puts him in fourth place.
Toppin can just be a prankster
Dayton’s Obi Toppin may be the only lottery prospect that can be “safe”. The 22-year-old has more refinement in his game than any of the other possible, more productive selections. However, it turns out that there is a wide diversity in which it can simply be selected.
Athletic’s beatwriter organization laughed at only the first five times international, and the 22-year-old is one of them. Ward-Henninger placed him sixth overall in the Knicks, but Ham laughed at him against the Warriors in second place.
“Toppin doesn’t play defensively, but it may have perfect compatibility with the Warriors’ offensive plan. He can hit from the outside, take his player out of the dribble and he may be a dream player for a two-player Steph Curry match. Ham wrote.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Toppin move from moment to moment in general. Nor would it be a wonder to see him fall absolutely unsuccessfully into the lottery. Much can depend on how groups weigh in nba preparation.
