NBA 2K21 unveils new features for ”MyTEAM’ for current and next generation consoles

A number of new features are coming to the MyTEAM game mode in NBA 2K21, and all progress will be made for players moving from the existing generation of consoles, PlayStation four and Xbox One, to the next generation, PlayStation five and Xbox Series X, when they are released later in 2020.

On Friday, Visual Concepts, the game developer, introduced some of the adjustments made to MyTEAM. In particular, there will now be seasons to stream new content during the year and they will be loose to play.

Competitive players can participate in the new Limited MyTEAM mode. Every weekend (Friday through Sunday), a championship ring will be available, and whoever gets the full collection of rings in a given season will win the most productive set of prizes at the end of the season.

Unlimited mode will also go to MyTEAM for a year with a rebuilt structure. There are now nine leagues left to conquer before completing the mode.

NBA 2K21 will also get one of its most intriguing additions to MyTEAM to date in the form of the IDOL Series collection, with cards with some of the most important players in history. They will make their debut from September.

The developer has also created a domain called The Exchange, where players can exchange cards that they might not use in the hope of adding more valuable coins to their collection.

Finally, the formula of the My TEAM badge has once reworked with new customization options, adding other evolutionary routes that allow players to create a more exclusive and varied set.

The NBA 2K21 demo will be released on existing consoles and Nintendo Switch on Monday.

The full global release date for the game is September 4, and will be available on next-generation consoles after they become available in this year’s holiday season.
