The NBA draft lottery groups are all in one position for the league draw on August 20 after the conclusion of Friday’s qualifying games.
Only the last 8 groups that were not invited to the NBA resumption in Orlando, Florida remain unchanged. The rest of the lottery groups have gone to the last qualifying games and will still want an entry tournament for the 14th team eligible for a first-place selection.
This year’s lottery will be held almost because of the pandemic, but what is at stake remains higher than ever.
The Golden State Warriors are there for a new player in the franchise to make their championship window bigger, the Cleveland Cavaliers expect their fourth number one pick since 2011, and the Minnesota Timberwolves can claim their lottery victory in the past five years.
Here’s a look at the team’s position before the ping-pong balls start bouncing.

The Grizzlies and Blazers will face off in a play-in series for the right to claim the 8th place in the Western Conference, and the loser will fall into the lottery. If the Grizzlies win a game before the Blazers win two games, Memphis moves on. Otherwise, Portland officially enters the playoffs with Boston getting the Memphis selection if it ends up outside the doors of the six most sensitive.
Unlike past seasons, a number one consensus selection did not emerge in this year’s draft. Instead, there are a number of customers who could settle down first based on who wins the lottery.
This high-level organization includes escort LaMelo Ball, escort Anthony Edwards, Obi Toppin front and james Wiseman, and carries significant benefits and disadvantages.
Ball is an experienced game creator, however, he hasn’t spent much time in the North American area in recent years after ignoring college to play in the Australian National Basketball League for the Hawks. He would continue to play only 12 games with an average of 17 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists before a bruised foot finished his season.
Edwards, an experienced shooter in Georgia last season who can seamlessly penetrate the dribble, however, his cash purpose percentage of 29.4 out of 3 can scare some professional teams.
Toppin won the Naismith College Player of the Year award in 2020 while leading Dayton with 20 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists consistent with the game. He is also a tough striker with a limited shot who tries to break into a league that in large affects offenses away from the hoop.
Wiseman’s game adapts to this bill, but has also opposed a significant festival since he retired from Memphis in December to prepare for the draft following an NCAA investigation into his eligibility. Before leaving the Tigers, he averaged 19.7 problems and 10.3 boards.
All 4 will be on the lookout for the lottery to see where their skills have more productive compatibility as their NBA dreams begin to come true.
Joe Dumars will serve as Kings’ interim executive vice president of basketball operations and will serve as general manager.
