NBA Playoff Picture 2020: Predicting the best for the last week of the season

The Phoenix Suns would probably never lose again.

Okay, we’re joking (half) about it, the suns were as hot as … Well, the genuine sun since I got to Orlando, Florida.

Phoenix took the Association’s record 6-0 with 27 points in the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, a victory that moved the Suns in a singles game against the Memphis Grizzlies’ eighth-headed.

Can Phoenix, despite everything, break its nearly 10-year-old playoff drought, or will all wins be forgotten in the midst of some other lost playoff trip? We’ll answer that question and more as we update the latest ranking, expect maximum playoff diversity, and take a look at 3 of the most productive first-round matchups on our calendar.

More intriguing first-round games

Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Certainly, the error of injuries has stripped this future series of its brilliance. The Sixers lost the 6’10 general on the pitch and global defender Ben Simmons to a knee operation that is likely to end his season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

That said, Philadelphia turns out to have avoided the crisis with the ankle injury of Middle All-Star Joel Embiid. While he has already been ruled by Tuesday’s tilt with the Hot Suns, Sixers head coach Brett Brown expects the 26-year-old to return to action before the playoffs.

“I hope he does, ” said Brown to reporters. “This is only a man’s opinion. No one is going around the world, “It’s serious, ” one. Two, I think it would be great for him to play before the playoffs start.”

Simmons’ absence is likely to pull Philadelphia out of the championship race, but Embiid is (literally) Boston’s biggest fear. The Celtics never replaced Al Horford (casually, now a Sixer) last summer, and will ask for a ton of 6’8″, 215 pounds a half Daniel Theis to close the horns with the 7’0,” 250 pounds. Embiid.

It is conceivable that the Embiids are celebrating as a buffet in Boston and the Celtics still have enough firepower to advance, however, Brad Stevens’ plan to engage the medium (or concentrate on the finals of everyone else) will be one of the first primary chess games. Second Season moves.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers

There is a possibility (perhaps a smart one) that we may look silly when we mention this series. The Blazers haven’t even sewn a spot in the playoffs yet, and even if they do, they don’t have a LeBron James cap on the list.

However, anything is purple and gold.

Even after Monday’s victory over the Nuggets, the Lakers are 3-4 in Orlando and have an offensive power score worse than all bubble participants except the Washington Wizards without Bradley Beal (and without John Wall and Davis Bertans).

Portland, on the other hand, has an orderly 4-2 record and has an offensive score in the standings. The Blazers are as healthy as they have been all season and have a lot more skill than the typical team fighting for an eighth seed (remember, they were convention finalists last season). They also acquire the MVP habit of Damian Lillard, who has the third bubble average (33.0) and the largest assistant of the moment (9.5).

“They will be the eighth most sensible seed in NBA history,” Colin Cowherd said in “The Herd” (Ashley Young of NBC Sports Northwest). “Your back area can be a nightmare for the Lakers.”

If L.A. can’t wake up from this mini-funk, Portland can cross it so far.

Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers

Okay, maybe Jimmy Butler’s circular moment instead of T.J. Warren didn’t live up to expectations.

Butler returned from a three-game absence (foot) to propel the Heat to a 114-92 win over the Pacers, with a total of 19 problems, 11 rebounds, five assists and 4 steals in just 28 minutes. Warren, who had been the top scorer for the bubble, controlled 12 points in five of 14 shots and recorded minus 11 in 28 minutes.

“They themselves as assailants and shot,” Warren told reporters later. “They’re a well-trained team. They play hard.”

Decidedly, there was less drama than when they met before. On January 8, Butler and Warren faced off, tied the game, Warren was ejected and Butler taunted him at the start. The rivalry did not resurface in Monday’s unbalanced relationship, although Butler enjoyed the last laugh (uh… dance).

The fact that Miami already has its eyes on Indiana’s All-Star escort, Victor Oladipo, by 2021, only adds to the plot here. And don’t fall asleep in the middle game either. Bam Adebayo and Myles Turner are on a short list of the league’s most productive defensive centers, providing new offensive quality within the lines, between Adebayo’s game and Turner’s floor space.

The league will distribute the “qualifying game player” and the qualifying team in the media vote.

These have the merit for the Western Conference entry tournament ➡️
