Giannis Antetokounmpo is the two-time MVP winner.
The 25-year-old also spent his entire career with the Milwaukee Bucks, who decided on him with the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. However, the Bucks can offer you a supermax extension to be there for a while.
After being eliminated in the NBA playoff round in September, Milwaukee is likely to make moves this offseason to help Antetokounmpo stay long-term. Things are likely to be too early for the Bucks (and the rest of the league teams) with the NBA draft scheduled for November 18 and the loose company is expected to start some time later.
Here’s a look at the NBA’s latest rumors, more about Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.
Unsurprisingly, the Bucks need Antetokounmpo to point to a five-year supermax extension before joining ESPN’s flexible agency and, according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the team believes it can happen.
Lowe recently reported that the Bucks “continue to trust” that Antetokounmpo will point to a five-year supermax extension “valued between $220 million and $250 million (depending on the maximum level) before the start of the normal 2020-21 season. “Then Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee can concentrate only on the next season than on what will come next.
But what if the Bucks don’t tell Antetokounmpo a supermax expansion up to that point?
“Unless something fits radically, Milwaukee doesn’t negotiate it,” Lowe writes. “If Antetokounmpo doesn’t sign, the Bucks are in a position to play,” Resources said.
Milwaukee has been the No. 1 seed at the East Conference every two years and remains in win-win mode, so it makes sense that it doesn’t need to industrialize its star, even if it has a dubious future. Antetokounmpo set professional tops in problems (29. 5) and rebounds (13. 6) consistent with the game in 63 games.
The Bucks have held the normal season record in the last two years, but have not passed the East Conference Finals in either season. Milwaukee last reached the NBA Finals in 1974 and has not won a championship since 1971.
Lowe reported that the Bucks will “be active” this off-season, so their list may look different as they are going to make a deeper run in the playoffs in 2021. And it turns out they already have potential business objectives.
“They love Bogdan Bogdanovic, a limited free agent for the Sacramento Kings who wants a signal and an exchange; the Bucks have introduced scenarios in which they also absorb Harrison Barnes, resources told ESPN,” Lowe wrote. “We don’t know if they involved the Kings in genuine discussions; it’s early. “
Bogdanovic, 28, spent his first three nba seasons with the Kings and a key contributor (mainly from the bench), scoring a career record of 15. 1 issues in 61 games in 2019-20. Barnes, 28, has also had a season forged by Sacramento, with an average of 14. 5 problems and 4. 9 rebounds in 72 games (all as a starter).
These two are the only players Milwaukee is interested in. Lowe noted that the Bucks “are also looking at Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, although no substantial discussions have taken place with the Pacers. “returning from a serious quadriceps injury he suffered in January 2019), however, they need to see him in action before the industry negotiations begin.
There has been a lot of enthusiasm around LaMelo Ball since he is a top-tier gunman at school, which he has not replaced when he spent a season playing for the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League in Australia, and was long expected to be drafted at the start of the 2020 NBA Draft.
With the draft less than two weeks away, it looks like Ball will leave as soon as some predicted.
According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, Ball “would have struggled with education and interviews, and many league resources think he can fall into the three most sensible. “But that doesn’t mean there are no groups interested in taking him to the lottery.
“Some groups may prefer to play security, but if a player with Ball’s merit slips, a bidding war can also begin,” O’Connor wrote.
The Detroit Pistons, who own the No. 7, are a potential team that could simply select Ball, as general manager Troy Weaver recently said that “riding is definitely an option,” according to ERIC Woodyard of ESPN, who also reported ball a possible target for them.
Ball has strong playing skills and a lot of potential, so if the groups pass it, the 19-year-old can make their resolve not to recruit him, but only time will tell whether this will be the case or not.
