Liverpool defender Neco Williams has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The Premier League champions proved that the 19-year-old had put the pen on paper on Monday, and the Reds left for a pre-season retreat in Austria.
He told the club’s website: “It’s amazing. At the moment for me, I think there’s no better position to be informed and a better player than to be here and paint with the boys. I think we have some of the most productive players in the global and we are one of the most productive groups in the global.
“For me, personally, especially learning from Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Robbo [Andy Robertson] every day, getting their advice, seeing what they say, it will just make me a better player and I’m sorry.
“I take it day by day and mature in my game, I expand as a player and, as I said, I don’t think a bigger position to paint and follow than here.
“Last season my escape season, however, I think the more I play now, the more I train, I feel like I’m fitting into a better player.
“I feel like I’m going up a lot and, as I said before, being informed of Trent and Robbo and receiving your recommendation has helped me enormously. In training, they inform me of what they do, give me recommendations on what to do to attack, meaningfully and defensively.”
Williams played six Premier League games last season and more in the National Cup.
Young foreign Welsh are also part of the team that won the Club World Cup in Qatar in December.
