Negotiations on Man Utd’s move succeed at a standstill with only 1.9 million pounds avoiding an agreement

Roma is suffering to fund a deal for Manchester United’s defence Chris Smalling, according to reports. The plant has enjoyed a successful loan era with Serie A heavyweights, but its valuation is too high for Paulo Fonseca’s team.

Smalling joined Roma on a season loan in August 2019 and temporarily settled at the Stadio Olimpico.

England, with 31 international matches, have played 35 games with the club, scoring two goals and offering two assists in all competitions.

Roma are, of course, willing to retain their for the 2020-2021 crusade and beyond, but the discussions have not yielded any positive results.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport says Roma started talks with the Red Devils and Vice President Ed Woodward several weeks ago.

Rome would like a transfer agreement, but the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team needs a permanent sale and is valuing its signature at 18.2 million pounds.

However, Rome’s reports remain a company and have told United that they will not spend more than 16.3 million pounds for the 30-year-old.

It is the idea that Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan are tracking the stage and could launch their own offers if Roma remains stagnant.

The Red Devils have lately seven central defenders in their books, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Smalling, Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo.

But Solskjaer is still a left-back to play alongside Captain Maguire at Old Trafford next season.

Several names have been connected imaginable in recent months.

The defense of Villarreal Pau Torres, Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar and free agent Jan Vertonghen are reportedly on United’s list of finalists.
