Leeds United advances for Diego Llorente
Leeds United is in a position to carry out a movement raid for the sensation of the former championship of 15 million pounds
The former Hull City lender, who joined Boro for a seven-figure sum overdue last week from the Greek POAK aspect, is making his debut in Saturday’s QPR league game.
Boro Warnock’s boss, who lately taught himself after being diagnosed with Covid-19 last week, said he was pleased to get the Londoner and insisted it was his number one target.
Akpom, 24, who first rose to fame in Arsenal’s age groups, admits that Warnock’s “magic touch” in phone conversations with him temporarily convinced him.
On Warnock’s effect, Akpom, who is part of a POAK team that recently eliminated Besiktas and Benfica from the Champions League, said: “Everyone knows the player, he is a personality and a prominent figure. He’s not just a manager, he’s a mentor, he’s got that magic touch, I hope he can have it with me.
“It’s unbelievable. Everyone knows the player’s history and good luck with promotions. He’s done it in the afterlife and he needs to do it again.
“The first thing he told me is that he thinks he can make me a Premier League player. When a coach says that, it’s a no-brainer.
“I didn’t want much conviction.
“The gaffer called me. It shows how much he will be here.
“As soon as I had this conversation, I spoke to my agent and told him I was in a position to return.
“It’s a huge club, a coach who can make the most of me, what else do you want?”
Akpom asked to upload a much-needed new purpose option to a club that was the second top scorer last season after scoring only 48 goals in 46 league games.
