As we’ve discovered in America, this way of thinking doesn’t work.
The Shield has published an initial coronavirus control plan for its 32 educational camps, with a monumental task of controlling the expected force of the 80-man camp and an even significant effort to control groups of 53 men in the fall. And that set doesn’t come with the team and the league and the media.
In the meantime, as we’ve noticed with the NBA and MLS, the bubbles are working! The two leagues played at Disney World in Orlando took a while to isolate the groups of players and staff who tested positive for COVID-19, but it worked. No league has tested positive for more than a week. That bodes well for the NHL, which plans to keep two bubbles outdoors in the United States.
