On Friday night, LSU aidesman Kevin Nickelberry got his first engagement in Baton Rouge since he was one of three assistants to head coach Will Wade. Bradenton, Florida, IMG Academy goalkeeper Brandon Murray, a Baltimore and New York location, has announced his engagement.
“Coach Nickelberry, the top recruiter. Coach Nickelberry knew everyone and LSU were late, but they knew they were going to be one of the hardest people to recruit and Nickelberry made it clear they were looking for me. Nickelberry, the boss. recruiter and we just built a genuine and intelligent relationship.
“I don’t mean he said all the right things, yet he treated me like a member of the family circle.”
Wade was also a key component of his engagement, which made Murray feel sought-after during the hiring process.
“Coach Will Wade is an extraordinary coach,” Murray said. “He has a wonderful character and knew exactly what he needed. He just came here because of the fact of the jump and that’s what I enjoyed. It just made me need it.”
LSU sees goalkeeper 6-5 as a natural scorer with the ability to play at both ends of the courts. That’s also what Murray sees in himself.
“They see me as a goalscorer, ” he said. “I’m a three-level scorer who can play on both sides of the area and only with my IQ. They needed someone to just score. I’m your player and they think I have good compatibility with the system. to bring my power and my score.”
Without any visitors, LSU communicated with Him to show it around Baton Rouge. This made him feel at ease when he nevertheless made his decision.
“With everything and everything happening, I didn’t expect to be able to make visits next year, so I was in the same position as last year. It was just an instinct. I was comfortable with that. The campus is beautiful. I enjoyed every moment. It’s a great relief to know that I’m going to Baton Rouge.”
