Nicolas Kuhn has suggested disgruntled Celtic fans remain his club as this unity will help them regain their Premiership crown.
A section of the Hoops support chanted and displayed a banner before and after the 1-1 draw at Aberdeen which read: ‘Celtic board – on your heads be it.’ Celtic remain on top of the table but if Rangers win their game in hand they can go level and the finger of blame is very much being pointed at the Parkhead hierarchy. Kuhn, when asked if Celtic can still win the league, answered: “Of course, the quality of the team is very good. We will also give our best every week.
“Yes, there’s a long way to go and a lot of games to play. Of course, we have to be positive. We want the fans and we also want to stay together, so we can be bigger and bigger in every game. “Concerns have been raised since the departure of three-time manager Ange Postecoglou this summer to Tottenham Hotspur.
Celtic made the decision to bring Rodgers back and they stayed in the most sensible way, he couldn’t succeed in the most sensible in his first spell in Glasgow. The Hoops have also lost control of their Viaplay Cup and the arrival of Philippe Clement at Ibrox has seen their name rivals close the hole and increase the pressure.
Rodgers has continually said he needs more quality in his squad. The last transfer saw just two arrivals in Kuhn in a £3 million move from Rapid Vienna and striker Adam Idah on-loan from Norwich City.
This set off alarm bells among the players, although, ironically, it was new signing Kuhn who came off the bench to score his first goal and salvage a point for Celtic at Pittodrie. Celtic will now have to travel to Hibernian on Wednesday night, a place where Rodgers struggled to get the win. But it could be bolstered by a quick comeback from Daizen Maeda, who participated in the Asian Cup with Japan. As a big surprise, the Japanese were eliminated from the tournament on Saturday by Iran in the quarterfinals.
