As Nike continues to celebrate its 15th anniversary of SB Dunk, the Swoosh launches a vintage remake. While shoes such as the Dunks “Diamond”, “De La Soul” and “Reese Forbes Denim” have been remodeled into high sneakers over the years, the “Boca Juniors” Dunk remain close to the original as stockings.
Originally launched in 2005, the Nike SB Dunk Low “Boca Juniors” encouraged and received the name of the Brazilian national football team. Using the team’s colors, the shoes sported a Varsity Royal stem, bright yellow details on the Swoosh, tongue and heel, and the bottom of the rubber. Although the 2017 edition is also a low peak, there are several notable changes. The biggest difference is the shape, the new “Boca Juniors” eliminates the additional design discovered in the old SB Dunks and adheres to the slimmer, more modern silhouette. In addition, the suede panels are incorporated into the design, compared to the all-leather rod on the OG.
The Nike SB Zoom Dunk Low Pro “Boca Junior” will be released in spring 2017. Stay up-to-date on Sole Collector for updates.
